Chrystn Keeley
What is your official job title?
Patient family relations specialist
How long have you worked here?
Four years
Please describe your typical day and responsibilities.
In a nutshell, I have the opportunity of connecting with patients, their families, and staff, daily to bridge gaps in communication and care. I hear a lot of feedback about what we are doing well and where we can make improvements.
Why did you choose to come to WDH?
Dover is a special place to me and I have wanted to work in a hospital setting and feel lucky to have been chosen to do this work.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
I love the energy that lives in this hospital; specifically, the smiling faces/eyes as you walk through the halls.
How would you describe your work experience at WDH?
Rewarding and challenging.
What would you say to someone who is considering applying to work here?
It is a great place to work. There is a strong sense of family and culture that fosters togetherness.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Learning about people and making connections.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
An architect or an artist.
What is your proudest moment?
My children because they are growing into lovely tiny humans and my husband because he ventured out on his own many years ago and is one of the top wedding and portrait photographers on the Seacoast! I have always wanted to be a mom, so the pride and love I feel for my kids, runs very deep! I am proud to be part of my amazing little family!
Who is your hero?
My dad is my hero, he is one of the greatest humans I will ever know and have the privilege to love.
What makes you laugh the most?
My husband and puns….I love a good pun!
What is one thing you wish others knew about you?
This is more of a fun fact; I was a competitive powerlifter before I had my two children.
Who is the WDH colleague you admire most and why?
I tend to admire people for who they are, not a title they hold. That being said, over the past four years I have grown to deeply admire Sarah Gardent. Sarah embodies compassion, truth and a depth of honesty that makes being around her and confiding in her, easy to do. Sarah also happens to be a very strong leader. Sarah has created an inviting and supportive environment not only in the PX Dept but also the organization as a whole!
